The Coalition for Food and Health Equity is seeking a high-energy and motivated individual to join our Ujamaa Cafe team. The Ujamaa Cafe Fridge Associate is an invaluable team member who ensures Ujamaa Cafe fridges are restocked weekly, serving locations in Jersey City, Newark, and Paterson New Jersey.

Roles and Responsibilities
 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing delivery services to vending service within pantry, school, community organization, and medical service business locations.

  • Must follow ALL traffic laws, while driving and other safety precautions

  • The ability to walk and carry packages up multiple flights of stairs on scheduled days.

  • Will need to use GPS to navigate delivery destinations

  • Managing 5 - 7 delivery stops each day

  • Will need to complete all delivers within a given time frame (goal) each day

  • Safely lift, carry, and deliver packages up to 25 - 35lbs

  • Effectively communicate with customers and administrative staff

  • Will assist other drivers in delivering packages on some evenings

  • Must be at least 18yrs of age

  • Must have a valid and clean driving record (subject to a 3-5 year review)

  • Will need to maintain a clean driving record

  • Must consent to a background check

  • Work will begin at 10:30am and will end after the last delivery (typically 4 hours)

  • 1 year of delivery experience is preferred but not required

  • Must attend ALL training sessions

  • Positive demeanor and bright SMILE are necessary

  • Driver’s License in good standing

  • Reliable vehicle

  • Available on Mondays & Wednesdays (10am - 3pm)

  • Available to deliver to Jersey City, Newark, and Paterson NJ

Schedule: Mondays to Wednesdays; 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
