Investor's Bank provides CFHE a $500.00 grant to support Ujamaa Mobile & Cafe.

Coalition Equity is delighted to announce a charitable contribution of $500.00 from Investor's Bank to support CFHE's Ujamaa Cafe & Mobile program: an innovative, community-driven initiative to improve food access at the intersection of health equity and neighborhood revitalization.

Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 Investor's Bank provided Coalition for Food and Health Equity with a $500.00 donation. Investor's Bank contribution will support CFHE's Ujamaa Mobile location at the Hudson Pride Center, enhancing HPC members' and the surrounding Jersey City community's access to and engagement with the Ujamaa mobile cafe refrigerator.

Hudson County is among the top three in New Jersey for food insecurity rates (11.1% vs. 8.6% statewide). Low-income, predominantly minority urban neighborhoods suffer the greatest as local options are limited to convenience stores and fast-food restaurants. Building upon Coalition Equity's existing meal delivery program, The Hunger Project, CFHE is addressing this complex public health issue by opening grab-and-go mobile cafes where community members can access healthy food options with dignity, respect, and care.

With Ujamaa, meals are provided by our growing network of partnering local restaurants, who work with our wellness team to ensure that meals are health-forward. Further, customers shop our free fridge and select meal options that align with their food preferences and interests.

CFHE is grateful to Investor's Bank for their generosity. Support from community donors like Investors Bank is critical to sustaining the vision of Coalition Equity programs and the advancement of transforming health and food equity within our communities across Jersey City and throughout Hudson County.
