About the Job
 

You’ll assist the Ujamaa program staff in conducting the day-to-day work of CFHE’s Ujamaa Cafe & Mobile program. In addition to assisting with day-to-day tasks, you will have the opportunity to provide input in and assist on innovative efforts to ameliorate food insecurity and health disparities.

Roles and Responsibilities
 

  • Assist with Coalition Equity, Ujamaa Cafe  day-to-day operations, including oversight of refrigeration units.

  • Manage cafe displays and stock shelving units. 

  • Assist with inventory management and oversight

  • Assist with keeping product descriptions up to date 

  • Assist with research conducted on the Ujamaa program

  • Assist with outreaching for the Cafe.

  • Assist with helping customers use the refrigeration units, self serve coffee, and purchasing of retail products. 

  • Assist with the overall presentation of the cafe.

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in social work, human services, urban planning, psychology, public health, exercise science, or a similar field;

  • Interest in food justice, health equity, wellness, and food insecurity

  • Ability to work well with a team as well as independently

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Good Presentation and communication skills
