Executive Assistant & Community Liaison

 

The Coalition for Food and Health Equity is seeking a highly organized and attentive professional who will work alongside the CFHE Executive team members to assist and optimize the daily operations and community outreach needed to ensure the success of Coalition for Food and Health Equity. This is a full-time position with opportunity to grow.

About the Job

You’ll assist the Executive team in conducting the day-to-day work, managing the senior leadership team’s schedules, events, and calendars within CFHE. As well as assisting with external communications of the senior leadership team across all CFHE programs. In addition to assisting with day-to-day tasks, you will have the opportunity to provide input in and assist on innovative efforts to ameliorate food insecurity and health disparities.

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

Executive Assistant

  • Provide administrative assistance to CFHE’s senior leadership team that includes drafting memos and emails, preparing communications on behalf of the executive team, and maintaining calendars.

  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records.

  • Organizing meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and organizing CFHE and community partner team meetings.

  • Answering phone calls in a polite and professional manner 

  • Managing Executive team’s Calendars, including making appointments and prioritizing sensitive matters

  • Screen calls and determine what level of support the ET needs and distribute correspondence.

  •  Act as the point of contact among executives, employees, clients, and other external partners/ vendors.

  •  Provide General administrative support.

  • Be a point of contact for community events.

  •  Assist the senior leadership team with event management and planning.

  •  Agency event planning

Community Outreach

  • Fostering relationships within the community.

  • Lead CFHE’s community outreach efforts, including attending CFHE’s community events.

  • Support with community outreach and provide on the ground community enrollment for CFHE’s

  • programs and initiatives.

  • Assist in recruiting THP and Ujamaa program restaurants and community partners.

  • Assist in establishing community partnerships.

  • Working closely with CFHE’s Media Team, develop marketing strategies, informational campaigns, and ideas to increase awareness, education, and reach of CFHE and our services.

  • Attends workshops/community health fairs, and related activities to distribute outreach materials and to network with appropriate community organizations

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required.

  •  Minimum 2-3 years’ experience supporting C-Level Executives, preferably with a national organization.

  •  Forward thinker who proactively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

  • Project management experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across departments and teams.

  •  Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the following software applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of support and response.

  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills.

  •  Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.

  •  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  •  Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.

  •  Ability to multi-task and thrive in an extremely fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Schedule and Compensation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000 Schedule

Per Diem Delivery Driver 

The Coalition for Food and Health Equity’s The Hunger Project (THP) seeks applicants 18+ with Vehicle, Drivers License , and Delivery Driver expertise to join our growing Driver Team. The Hunger Project is a weekly meal delivery program for individuals experiencing food insecurity. Our meal program delivers fresh, warm meals to our senior population, homeless residents, and persons with disabilities. 

 

As a Delivery Driver, you will deliver meals to THP clients twice a week from partnering restaurants. Reporting to the Delivery Driver Coordinator, the Delivery Driver has the following responsibilities and duties:

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

  1. Drivers will pick up meals, weekly, from restaurants on Monday and Thursday and deliver to THP clients.

  2. Be able to deliver meals to clients in a timely fashion. 

  3. Drivers must adhere to all CFHE and THP Safety & Driver Protocols.

  4. Drivers must adhere to the State's traffic laws.

  5. Drivers must inspect that meal bags meet the appropriate standards such as; appropriately labeled, damage free bags, and bags are properly sealed. 

  6. Drivers must be able to support restaurants' packing needs in urgent cases.  

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • A passion for working with community members to address New Jersey’s most pressing hunger and health needs;

  • Local to Hudson County with availability to work across multiple locations.

  • Drivers License in Good Standing 

  • Has a vehicle 

  • Previous delivery driver experience and food management experience preferred.

  • Interest in food justice, health equity, wellness, and food insecurity

  • Ability to work well independently while being team-oriented and having excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of data analytics software, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Sheets.

Client Services Representative 

 

The Coalition for Food and Health Equity’s The Hunger Project (THP) seeks applicants with customer service expertise to join our growing Client Resource Team. The Hunger Project is a weekly meal delivery program for individuals experiencing food insecurity. Our meal program delivers fresh, warm meals to our senior population, homeless residents, and persons with disabilities. 

 

As a Client Service Representative (CSR), you will respond to clients inquiries on accessible and social resources, The Hunger Project program and enrollment, as well as concerns / questions regarding client program experience.  Reporting to The Hunger Project Coordinator and Manager of Operations, the CSR has the following responsibilities and duties:

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Respond to incoming calls and emails regarding enrollment and general information about the program.  

  • Assist with data organization and management.

  • Collect enrollment information from potential participants following THP’s enrollment procedures.

  • Direct requests for information to appropriate CFHE/THP staff. 

  • Assist the data coordinator with transfer of participant information upon instruction.

  • Maintain data security and privacy of participant information and take extra precautions working with personally identifiable data. 

  • Attend community events to provide support in enrollment.

  • Adhere to legal and regulatory standards and company guidelines.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and pay keen attention to detail.

  • Experience with MS Word and spreadsheets. 

  • Professional working knowledge of Spanish is a plus. 

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Preferably a degree in nonprofit management, social work, or a similar field;

  • Preferably those within the Hudson, Essex, Mercer, or Camden county New Jersey area.

  • Interest in food justice and food insecurity

  • Ability to work well independently while being team-oriented and having excellent oral and written communication skills

Internship Program

 

The Coalition for Food and Health Equity is seeking current undergraduate and graduate students to join our internship program! The internship program will consist of up to 5 interns who will join a small team dedicated to advancing Coalition Equity’s mission and will participate in every aspect of our work, including daily operations, communications, grant writing and fundraising, community research and analysis, outreach, government relations, and policy advocacy. We are seeking organized self-starters who will work alongside the team to implement and optimize the systems and infrastructure needed to scale our work at the local, state and federal levels. This is a quarter time position with opportunity to grow. All internships are remote, with the exception of operations and advocacy (onsite work will occasionally be required). Interns will report to their respective department lead (operations, social media/communications, research and advocacy).

 

About the Job

You’ll assist the Team Leads in conducting the day-to-day work of Coalition Equity. In addition to assisting with day-to-day tasks of our expanding work, you will have the opportunity to provide input in and assist on innovative efforts to ameliorate food insecurity and health disparities. As a member of our internship team, you’ll be exposed to every aspect of our work, and have the opportunity to build your skills in diverse areas.

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with Coalition Equity’s day-to-day operations, including oversight of The Hunger Project meal program hotline and communications.

  • Collect, store, analyze, and interpret data as requested by the Research and Advocacy Analyst

  • Engage Coalition Equity stakeholders via social media platforms to increase social media presence. 

  • Coordinate programming for Coalition Equity’s wellness initiative as directed.

  • Coordinate programming for Coalition Equity’s senior fitness program as directed.

  • Assist with the evaluation and research oversight of Coalition Equity’s senior fitness program and other programs as needed.

  • Assist with the creation of weekly blog posts and press releases.

  • Assist with grant proposal development and fundraising efforts.

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in social work, human services, urban planning, psychology, public health, exercise science, or a similar field;

  • We will consider candidates who work remotely, although those within the greater Hudson County, NJ area are preferred.

  • Interest in food justice, health equity, wellness, and food insecurity

  • Ability to work well independently while being team-oriented and having excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of data analytics software, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Sheets.
